CAREGIVERS... People cheerfully helping people,  linked by a bond of respect, service and support.

VOLUNTEERS

OUR CLIENTS NEED YOU!!

CAREGIVERS programs are carried out by over 200 giving, caring volunteers who are recruited and trained from our local community.

We are in great need of additional volunteers to assist the many more frail, elderly residents who call our office for help.

If you would like to:

Have a rewarding volunteer experience.

Use your talents and abilities to help a homebound elderly person.

Make a new friend.

Be free to set your own hours of service.

Work independently, but with plenty of support.

Be challenged and greatly appreciated.

Feel good about yourself.

Volunteers are interviewed and matched with a CAREGIVERS client, based on their interests, work experience, background, personality, etc. Volunteers are asked to set aside 2 to 4 hours per week to assist their elderly “friend.”

It is our goal to foster a long-term friendship between the two people, so that the senior will have a dependable source of support into the future.

Through our careful matching, many wonderful relationships have developed between volunteers and clients over the years.

If you prefer not to make a weekly commitment, but can drive an elder to a medical appointment on an "as needed" basis, your services are greatly needed.

There is always a waiting list at CAREGIVERS of seniors who desperately your need help.   Please call us at 805.658.8530 today!

Student Volunteers Needed!!!

Visit and Help the Homebound Elderly in Ventura

We insure the student’s safety………

  • CAREGIVERS is an insured and licensed Non-Profit Organization through the State of California. Federal ID 77-00816, and State ID 326-48867. We have been serving the frail homebound elderly consecutively since 1984 in Ventura County.

CAREGIVERS’ Intergenerational, Building Bridges Program offers students in Ventura an opportunity to volunteer with the frail homebound elderly, helping them with light chores and errands.

CAREGIVERS conducts a mini training session to all students before they participate in our program. All questions will be answered and an agreement will be signed by the parents and students, before the first visitation.

CAREGIVERS has hired a Youth Director who is fingerprinted and qualified to work with the students. The Coordinator will be at the elderly person’s home supporting the interaction between the elderly person and the student the entire time the student is at the home of the elderly person.

CAREGIVERS will offer the students a ride, with the Youth Director, from their school (or another central location) to the home of an elderly person to be served and back to the pick-up location (or home, if necessary).

Students will volunteer in teams of two or more!
